On July 3, 2025, the 125MW ST unit of the Olorunsogo Phase II combined cycle power station, which was contracted by Yufeng Power Nigeria Company, witnessed a significant milestone - the successful sealing of the high and medium-pressure cylinders. This achievement has once again laid a solid foundation for subsequent commissioning and grid connection.

Striving for excellence. This major overhaul was carried out due to an accident during the operation of the unit, which led to the burning of the bearing shells, severe wear of the rotor, extensive damage to the diaphragm steam seals, and breakage of the guard bands. To ensure the smooth progress of the project, the company's technical department and the project maintenance team carefully formulated the overhaul plan and emergency response plan, carefully studied every detail, and ensured the progress and quantity of the maintenance work.

Pioneering efforts. During the project's progress, the maintenance team worked efficiently with the owner. From the supply of spare parts to the transportation of goods, from the preparation of operations to the on-site execution, they carefully optimized the work sequence to ensure seamless connection of each task. At the same time, 6 Chinese engineers from the project department led the technical management and maintenance work throughout the process, guiding the owner's team to overcome various difficulties. On-site, they adopted the "one leader, two assistants" working mode, that is, one Chinese engineer led two local employees, and multiple work teams carried out their tasks. The project management team strictly focused on safety and strictly controlled quality, successfully completing the sealing work under multiple difficulties.

The Olorunsogo power station is one of the important power stations in the Nigerian power grid, accounting for 13% of the local power generation capacity. Completing the overhaul work ahead of schedule is of great significance for the stability of power supply in the local grid.
